Many auto stores accept used motor oil and batteries.
Latex paintTo dispose of latex paint, let the paint dry in the can. Adding a commercial drying agent or cat litter will help speed up the drying process. After the paint has dried, double-bag the can before placing it in the trash.
Leaf and yard waste collectionYard waste, including lawn clippings and weeds, will be collected on the same days as garbage and recyclables. Please place yard waste in bags or garbage cans. Tree branches should not exceed 3 inches in diameter.
Construction debrisHome construction or demolition debris may not be disposed of in Hazle Township garbage. If you’re putting on a new roof or remodeling your house, you need to make special arrangements with a waste hauler to remove the debris.
Bulk itemsOnly one bulk item per household may be placed out each week. This includes items such as sofas, mattresses, other furniture, water heaters, televisions, washers and other appliances. The bulk item must be placed out at the curb on your trash pickup day. Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers contain Freon (CFCs). Please remember that by federal law, Freon must be removed from appliances by a licensed professional and the appliance labeled with a sticker. Most appliance dealers and repair shops can remove the Freon. Also, many dealers will take away your old refrigerator when delivering a new one.
Yard wasteYard waste and Christmas trees should be put out on your regular trash day. Yard waste must be in bags or cans weighing no more than 40 pounds each.
